XDcamExtract for FCP

Intended for FCP / XDcam users.
This util will let you extract the video from XDcam disks, but ONLY the parts used in your sequence!
This makes it a HUGE timesaver, and there is NO NEED ANYMORE for a costly SDI / 422 deck.
No more cursing at winding time / TC errors on a disk based deck.
You can even use your camera for a frame accurate, fast online.
The workflow:
Edit your show with Proxy media, preferrably made with our XDcamUtils app, so you have high quality sound.
(Not only is that easier to work with, it saves online time as you only have to ingest the parts that have video, as all audio only clips are already done.)
After the offline, Media Manage the sequence to trimmed clips. (So FCP can relink later on.)
Use this application to copy the video from XDcamDisk to your harddisk.
Use the Sony XDcam tool to convert the MXF to QT.
Go back to FCP, set your sequence settings to match the shooting settings and you're done!

Don't let the simplicity fool you, this is a VERY powerful tool for those who need it!
Instead of slow ingesting all material, you can be editing very shortly after the shoot, and conform your sequence in slightly more time than the final show's running time. Makes it ideal for news and productions where there is limited storage.

This project started out as custom work for Bunim/Murray Productions, but somehow they lost interest.
As we already have put in close to two months of work, we decided to finish it anyway and make it public.
It's in version 1.0 now, and should be Unicode aware.
Next update will include ingesting based on FCP batch lists.
